The picturesque town of Alaró is located in a quiet valley between two well-known mountains at the south of the Sierra de Tramuntana. Alaró is well-chosen by cyclists and hikers since it has some of the best routes on the island. The most important industry was the footwear industry, which had over 30 factories. Nowadays the Tony Mora workshop can still be found in Alaró, which is worldwide known for its handmade cowboy boots.
