What’s your name and where are you from?
I am Mehmet Ali Tastan and come from Turkey. I lived in Istanbul before. Also, my hometown is Silifke.
What do you do at E&V Technology?
I work as a Backend Software Engineer in the Properties team. According to my responsibility, I have developed, designed and maintained our Microservices for the core project that is integrated portals. Our goal is to make the whole system better and our users daily business easier.
What are some of the challenges you have faced so far?
The biggest challenge I had to face so far was to know people and memorize their names and how to pronounce. I have a good chance that everybody wants to help me whenever I need whether I ask or not.
My typical day at E&V includes..
I check my emails, schedule time and manage our system. Then, I attend our daily standup meeting (of course with coffee or tea). After that, I develop my tasks, join meetings and collaborate with my colleagues.
What technology are you most excited about working with next?
I am happy to work with microservices & Kubernetes on GCP. I say it’s a good opportunity working with the cloud system, CI/CD pipes, Kubernetes, microservices, TDD culture and knowledge sharing environment.
What was a great surprising thing you discovered after joining E&V?
I am surprised at our company's progress from the beginning to the present and excited about its future investments. Additionally, I'm amazed at how they collect so intelligent and enthusiastic international team.
I like my coffee…
I am not a coffee man, however a nice selection of coffee with a bit of milk to start the day. Who doesn't want to get a cup of tea?
