The small village probably took its name between the end of Roman domination and the barbarian invasions, which according to tradition derives from the Latin Bis-ustum, meaning "burned twice", probably reminiscent of two fires suffered at the hands of the Reti and the Franks. Historic attraction of this town is the presence of Villa Cicogna Mozzoni which rises on the limits of the historic center of the town and is undoubtedly the most beautiful Renaissance country house in the whole Lombardy Region. The municipality of Bisuschio is served by the main activities such as banks and post offices as well as by the railway station which is only 3 km from the property and connects Porto Ceresio, Varese and Milan. Primary, secondary and high schools are just a few minutes from the property. The centre of the provincial capital, Varese, and the motorway to Milan are 8 km away, while Malpensa International Airport is 45 km away. The Swiss border is easily reached by walking 7 km to the customs of Porto Ceresio, 16 km to the customs of Ponte Tresa. After 25 km you reach the coast of Lake Maggiore.
