Description

Originally named Palazzo Leone, whose coat of arms, a Rampant Lion, can be found on the lintel of the original front door in the entrance hall. Originating in the 16th century, it was renovated in the mid-19th century and retains the style of this century. The palace, which became Palazzo Zaccaria because of the name of the family from Venice that bought it in the 1800s, retains original fin de siècle furnishing elements inside, which are combined with the large spaces, the ceilings almost all frescoed with classical and Art Nouveau scenes, and the large terrace with balustrade overlooking the enchanting garden. But, on the main floor, it is a scenic flight of arches that is striking, with frescoed ceilings more than 5 meters high. An aristocratic palace with a recently restored facade strategically located in the historic center of the most beloved Baroque city, between the Basilica of Santa Croce and Porta Napoli, a short distance from the Duomo. On the ground floor, with predominantly commercial use, a well-known restaurant and a store as well as a dwelling. Then two flights of stairs branch off from the hallway to reach the main floor. The solar pavement allows one to enjoy the city, from sunrise to sunset, with the view reaching the symbols of the city and imagining the sea.
