It is equipped with excellent beaches of granulated sand. It also has magnificent views of the castle at one end and at the other the monument to "La dona Sailor" which represents the suffering of women waiting for the return of their fishermen husbands. Mediterranean coastal climate, with temperatures always much milder due to the moderating thermal effect of the sea. Even so, it must be taken into account that the Mediterranean is a warm sea all year round, so that the softening effect of temperatures that characterizes it is more evident in winter than in summer. The summer drought in this climate usually lasts three months and the maximum rainfall is concentrated in autumn. The current core of the population was formed in the s. XV around the beach. The nautical port of Cañellas is the only marina in Lloret de Mar, located on the Canyellas beach, and where medium-sized boats can be moored. The closest airports are Gerona - Costa Brava, 30 km away, and Barcelona, 75 km away. Gerona airport connects Lloret de Mar with a good number of European cities and also has significant charter flight traffic. Barcelona airport is connected with regular flights to the main cities of the world. In Lloret de Mar we find two golf courses and one of the most famous water parks in the area. The Lloret de Mar - Fenals coastal path is one of the most beautiful walks that can be done along the Costa Brava.
