Like, share, comment – for real estate agents, social media is one of the most important topics in 2019 because many clients already expect that they can use social networks for easily establishing contact. That is why we asked our real estate agents Davide Borgo from Engel & Völkers Bolzano and Jennifer D. Holmes from Engel & Völkers Dallas what they learnt about social media in the past year and what trends they expect for 2019:

What lessons have you learned about social media in the past year?
Davide Borgo, Engel & Völkers Bolzano:
I learned that the use of E&V Hashtags allows us to give even more visibility to my profile and my properties. It also offers a great opportunity to meet colleagues around the world and exchange ideas and suggestions. Lately I've been trying to discover the beautiful locations that South Tyrol offers, posting photos and using the right hashtags that highlight the many opportunities and our beautiful Dolomites mountains.
Jennifer D. Holmes, Engel & Völkers Dallas:
Over the past year I have had the opportunity to learn what posts resonate with my audience the most. Providing relevant content consistently is key. The posts with the most engagement are almost always food related, sharing awesome places to eat around town. People love to see when new things open in the community. Getting the jump on new businesses opening up and being able to share it first is like breaking a news story and adds credibility as a respected resource. Restaurants and businesses enjoy getting free exposure for their business as well. Audiences like to see cool places to hang and visit. Using hashtags are important because a lot of Millennials search hashtags like google to find what they're looking for.
Social media is a field that is constantly and sometimes very rapidly changing. How do you think social media will shift in 2019?
Davide Borgo, Engel & Völkers Bolzano:
I think it will continue the positive trend of Instagram even more successfully – especially the use of Insta stories. That's why in our brand it's increasingly important to be present with photos of our beautiful properties. Presenting our beautiful properties on social networks allows us to reach our valued customers anytime and anywhere.
Jennifer D. Holmes, Engel & Völkers Dallas:
I think utilizing IGTV will be big in 2019. It is similar to YouTube, but with the convenience of Instagram. I love using IGTV for home tours and showcasing my listings. I plan to share more of my favorite places and spaces. The possibilities are endless!
What are your wishes, goals, ambitions for 2019?
Davide Borgo, Engel & Völkers Bolzano:
My ambitions and goals for 2019 are full of satisfaction for my customers to find the properties of their dreams and accompany them to a serene and successful sale. I want to improve my knowledge of the real estate market in my area to provide the best possible service.
Jennifer D. Holmes, Engel & Völkers Dallas:
Personally, I am working to become a local expert in my community. Sharing what I love about the area where I live with others. My aim is to help 20 or more families purchase or sell a home this year.
