That was the Mipim: What was being talked about?

The central topic at Mipim in Cannes, France, the world's largest trade fair for investment and commercial real estate, was emissions – especially the question of how the real estate industry can reduce them. 

Against the background of the EU Parliament's decision that from 2030 above all new buildings in the residential sector and from 2050 all residential properties should be emission-free, many good and innovative ideas and approaches were discussed at the fair under the guiding principle of "Road to zero carbon". It is now important that these are implemented as quickly as possible.

Engel & Völkers Commercial once again took part in the joint stand of the Frankfurt Economic Development Agency at Mipim 2023, which has already been a tradition for 16 years. At the same time, Engel & Völkers Investment Consulting invited guests to several events at a nearby location. A total of around 2,400 exhibitors were present on the four days of the trade fair. A good 23,000 visitors from around 90 countries took part. The next date has already been set: Mipim 2024 will take place next year from 12 to 15 March.
