Monday to Saturday 09:30 to 18:30
Ponta da Piedade is an impressive headland and is considered one of the best places in this area to see the sunset - with a privileged view of Sagres
Located a few minutes from the historic center of the city, Ponta da Piedade is known for its golden cliffs and turquoise waters, an ex-libris not to be missed in the city of Lagos.
The preservation of the cliffs was one of the reasons for the construction of the Walkways at Ponta da Piedade - a short but unforgettable walk.
There is no better way to get to know this magical corner of the Algarve than by walking the phenomenal Ponta da Piedade Trail and Walkways, clearly one of the best trails and walking routes in the Algarve.
Distance: 5Km
Duration: 1h30min
What to bring and recommendations for your Ponta da Piedade hike?
- Light and comfortable rucksack
- Footwear suitable for hiking (going in flip flops is not a good idea, unless you want to stick to the walkway)
- Food and drink (it feels great to have a picnic in the middle of the walk or after a nice swim);
- A good sun cream, sunglasses, a hat and lots of water, due to the high sun exposure along the trail and walkways;
- A camera or a smartphone to record the best moments of the hikes;
- The cliffs of Ponta da Piedade are very unstable and therefore dangerous. If you go with children, never leave them alone. And of course, don't take unnecessary risks only to take a photo for social media
- Swimsuit, to enjoy the wonderful beaches and natural pools of Ponta da Piedade;
- Bag to bring with you your rubbish (including organic). There is not always a rubbish bin at hand.
