the safest beaches in Europe !
In pandemic times, the European Best Destinations selected the 10 safest countries in Europe and the list included three Portuguese destinations: Comporta, Lagos and Porto Santo.
In addition to the landscape, safety criteria were taken into account, namely the low contagion rates of the respective regions, the size of the beach, the diversity of the tourist offer and the proximity to medical infrastructures. With regards to Meia Praia it ́s highlighted the proximity from the Lagos historical center, the traditional shops, bars, cafes and the local fresh market.
The cost strip between Lagos (Burgau) and Odeceixe is known as the Vicentina Coast and it's a different part of the Algarve, where the preserved nature has a strong, wild character, creating landscapes of breathtaking majesty, a place where time genuinely seems to have stood still. The cost line varies from remote beaches and picturesque fishing villages to historic ports steeped in maritime tradition.
