Aljezur & Costa Vicentina Beaches

Nestling among the rolling hills of north western Algarve represents the untouched Algarve, an area of beautiful natural landscapes where some of the best beaches in Portugal await you.

Situated in the Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa vicentina, the large natural park that extends along the western coast of the Algarve, Aljezur is a small agricultural town lying on the fertile plains that border the Aljezur river.

Outside the town, it´s hard to decide what is more appeling; countryside or coastline. Natural treks, mountain biking or horse rides around the hills offer the opportunity to admire wild boar, foxes and badgers in their natural habitat while Aljezur´s 40Km coast is a treasure trove of rich marine life, numerous species of local and migrating birds and beatiful mix of virgin beaches and peaceful river valleys.

Monte Clérigo

Monte Clérigo Beach is situated in a small fishermen village with the same name. The easy access to the village and to the beach is made through an asphalted road. It has a large sandy area and is mainly frequented by families that can find here all the necessary infrastructures to enjoy some days of leisure. 

Bordeira

The name “Bordeira” is due to the small river named “Bordeira” that flows to the south side of this beach until the ocean. Carrapateira is the name of the locality that this beach belongs to. 
With a wide sandy area, this is a very peaceful beach, perfect for relaxed holidays.
Sometimes a small lagoon is formed, perfect for children to play and swim.

Amoreira

Amoreira Beach is a beautiful beach located nearby the town of Aljezur with an extensive sandy area and dunes. This beach gives you the opportunity to swim both in the ocean or in the river (that usually forms a small lagoon).
In the North side of the beach there is a interesting rock that looks like a giant laying down.
