The Algarve is the best beach destination in Europe and Portugal the best golf destination. Theseare two of the awards won in the European World Travel Awards. Intotal, there are five more awards for Portugal than in the previousedition.
With more than threedozen nominations, Portugal came out of the round of the World TravelAwards (WTA) Europe with six global prize, to which joins an extraconquered the Mediterranean level and eight at national level.
Fromall the distictions there are two that may be helpful to thepromotion of tourism in Portugal and that reward two nichesconsidered vital for the tourism sector. The country won the "Oscar"for leading golf destination and the Algarve can now bear the "Oscar"for best European beach destination.
With 16 awards wonbetween 44 nominations, the 22nd edition of the World Travel AwardsEurope brought, above all, the confirmation of the excellence ofPortugal and the Algarve in various tourist categories.
