Heemstede is one of the Kennemerland municipalities and an attractive location for a broad target group. This village in the province of Noord-Holland consists of several residential areas with enchanting houses from the 1930s and villas. Prosperous municipality

The village has probably given its name to Hempstead in the American state of New York. Heemstede has a population of around 27,000 and is one of the most prosperous municipalities in the Netherlands. The average annual income lies at €47,600 per household and the average value of houses under the Real Estate Valuation Act (WOZ-value) is €432,000. For many years, the bleaching industry and floriculture were the main sources of income. From the 1920s and 1930s, the village started to become popular among commuters.
