"Luxembourg": the price per sqm of new projects continues to rise

The LISER has updated its study concerning the average selling price of new apartments in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. By new apartments, we mean the sale of properties in a state of future completion (VEFA). Today, Engel & Völkers Luxembourg summarises the results of this study for you. 


Overall evolution

Since 2008, the selling prices per sqm of this type of property have increased by 4.7% per year, which corresponds to a total increase of 51.1% in one decade. 

 
Location is a key determinant of price 


The average selling price of an apartment under construction exceeded 7,800 euros on average in Luxembourg City in 2017. It is in Strassen that we reach the highest price per sqm: 7,994 euros. 


In Esch-sur-Alzette, which is the second largest city in terms of population in the Grand Duchy, the price per sqm is around €5,498.


The most affordable municipalities are Esch-sur-Sûre, Weiswampach and Wiltz with an average price per sqm of around 4,100€.
