Engel & Völkers Varese this year renew again with pleasure its commitment as main sponsor in an homage to Gianfranco Brebbia, avant-guard filmaker of the '60s and the '70s.
Gianfranco Brebbia (born in Varese; 1923-1974) was one of the main contributor to the Italian experimental cinema of the ‘60s and ‘70s. Film-Maker, photographer and painter, Brebbia truly represents the creativity of a period full of researches, reforms and changes in the audiovisual language.
Throughout this event dedicated to Gianfranco Brebbia’s experimental cinema and named after his work of the same name, it will be shown for the first time in Italy - 50 years after its creation – his work “Extremity 2”.
During the workshop it will also be assigned to the artist Emilio Isgrò the “Gianfranco Brebbia Career Award” by the International Center "Gianfranco Brebbia" for the research and study of experimental cinema.
