The past year will remain in the history of the Engel & Völkers Group which in 2021 recorded its best economic performance ever. An overall result driven in particular by the demand for luxury properties which remained at high levels for the whole of last year. Sales in the range of properties between 5 and 10 million euros, in fact, grew by 97%, while that of properties over 10 million grew by 90%.
It is also interesting to note that all the main areas are growing: the Dubai Market Center grew by 119%, the Residential division of Engel & Völkers Americas recorded + 54% compared to 2020, Spain, Portugal and Andorra grew by 77%. Even the more traditional markets proved to be propitious: Germany, Austria and Switzerland increased turnover by 12%, France, the Netherlands and Belgium by 26%.
In Italy, the growth of Engel & Völkers follows the international trend with a + 55% compared to 2020 with a clear expansion of the points of sale, expected to grow also for 2022, as well as an increase in the number of collaborators who have already exceeded the quota a thousand but are destined to increase over the course of the year. An expansive trend that affects the Engel & Völkers Group as a whole: in fact, in 2021 over 70 new employees were hired in the Hamburg office alone and more than 90 new stores were opened all over the world.
Great year also for Elletre License Partner of Engel & Völkers in the areas of Varese, Venice, Treviso and Lake Maggiore, which recorded an increase in turnover of + 60% compared to 2020. With the demand for luxury properties in continuous growth, Elletre is prepares for a 2022 of further expansion with the opening by February of the new shop in Gallarate Via Manzoni, 3 which will serve the whole area of Gallarate and Busto Arsizio.
This success, according to Sven Odia, CEO of Engel & Völkers, is due to “the high demand for prestigious properties and the continuation of our corporate strategy. The strong growth of the Group derives from the excellent training of agents, the high level of professionalism and the intensification of our business in the first and second home markets around the world, as well as from the continuous investment in our digital platform ".
The human factor has also proved fundamental: "To strengthen the global presence of the brand and our expertise on the international market, we continue to employ strong personalities and give them the opportunity to write the next chapters of our success story with us".
2022 opens with positive signs with the confirmation of the high demand in the premium segment, which is destined to remain a trend in the coming months.
