What are the Malghe?
Those unfamiliar with the terminology of the mountains and pastures may have never heard of the Malghe del Trevigiano. By "malga" or "alpe" we mean an alpine pasture consisting of a rustic hut built in stone or wood, used by shepherds during the summer as a refuge for animals, but also as a dairy for the processing of milk and its derivatives . Usually this pasture activity mainly concerns head of cattle that can enjoy the very high quality of the pastures of the Treviso and Cesen Prealps, ideal for their proper nutrition, for the proper development of their muscle mass and healthy growth. Normally used between June and September, the mountain huts increasingly become an attraction for hikers and tourists who wish to visit Treviso and its territories, attracted by the beauty of the landscapes, but also by the rustic charm of the mountain pastures and the goodness of its products.
