The warm season is upon us and, although the situation of the Covid-19 pandemic is still very uncertain, the province of Treviso offers many opportunities to be outdoors. If it is not possible to do so immediately, you can plan a trip out of town as soon as conditions allow it. Among the many possibilities offered by the splendid territory of the Marca Trevigiana there is a beautiful day on a bicycle. For the Easter trips between cycle paths and Parco del Sile there is only the embarrassment of choice.
The province of Treviso alone offers hundreds of kilometers of cycle paths, mostly flat and therefore suitable for everyone, many of which in a unique naturalistic area such as the one where the Sile flows, one of the longest river of spring waters. Europe. In this article we recommend some of the main bike tours. Keep in mind, especially if you are with children, that non-circular linear routes can be done in one direction and then take the train back to the starting point.
TREVISO OSTIGLIA CYCLE PATH
Let's start with one of the longest cycle routes available, built on an old military railway. Upon completion, the itinerary will reach almost 120 kilometers of road between asphalt and gravel. Today 56 kilometers are available, more than enough for an Easter walk. It starts from Treviso and reaches Grisignano di Zocco. You cycle in nature and through the villages of the Marca Trevigiana, as well as along the suggestive cycle-pedestrian bridge over the Brenta river, built specifically for this cycle path.
GIRASILE
With its sinuous bends, the Sile river originates between Casacorba di Vedelago (TV) and Torreselle di Piombino Dese (PD), starting without haste towards the Venice lagoon. This natural spectacle is surrounded by the Regional Natural Park of the River Sile. Along the way there is a cycle path of about 34 kilometers, almost entirely of gravel but also suitable for children. The estimated travel time is about two and a half hours. Once in the lagoon you can continue towards Jesolo and even towards Lido di Jesolo and then Venice, for a total of about 70 kilometers. To do the whole route, especially with the family, it is recommended to stop along the way, taking two to three days. The Girasile also provides a loop solution, leaving the car in one of the many car parks in the area, and enjoying a ride of about 40 kilometers between Treviso and Casale sul Sile.
TOWARDS NORTH, TO MONTELLO
Another very pleasant route, this time towards the north. 15/20 kilometers accessible to all, in which cycle paths and roads alternate. It only takes an hour of pedaling to reach Nervesa della Battaglia, and also make a detour to the Piave.
IN THE WOOD
Also in the Montello area, here is a very suggestive route even if not really suitable for everyone. The Montello - Terre Rosse route passes for large stretches in the middle of the woods, with quite challenging descents. Two hours in the middle of nature, an ideal ride for the spring season.
NOT ONLY PLAIN
Treviso is notoriously in a strategic area of the plain, located a few kilometers from Venice and its lagoon, but not far from the Alps. This is why a possible itinerary for Easter trips is at the foot of Monte Grappa, between Bassano del Grappa and Asolo. It is a journey of about 60 kilometers, with considerable differences in height and a duration of 4 hours.
CANOE ON THE SILE
Leaving the pedals for a moment, it should be noted that the Sile river offers a beautiful alternative opportunity to spend an adventurous day in the Sile Park. It is a canoe excursion on the calm waters that cross the Marca Trevigiana. The complete route reaches about 20 kilometers and is recommended for those who are quite fit and accustomed to water activities.
