Alberto Angela, host of the TV programme “Meraviglie- la penisola dei tesori” decided to conclude his trip in search of the italian beauties in Tuscany. The episode of January 25th was recorded in the city of Siena and among the countryside of Val d’Orcia, a very suggestive place with a quiet atmosphere. He started with a description of the famous Palazzo Pubblico, “Loggia dei Nove”, talking about the history of the Middle age period. He explained many wars which happened in Siena at the time, for example the one between Siena and Florence or the fights between the current Contrade. The story then lingered on the greatest attraction of the city: Piazza del Campo and the Duomo: there, he observed, for instance, the inlays, the majestic dome and the wonderful masterpieces of Michelangelo.
As far as Val d’Orcia is concerned, the documentary made an overview on the area, paying much attention to the villages of Pienza, Radicofoni and to the volcanic cone of Amiata. Alberto Angela once again succeded in showing the treasures of Tuscany, providing the whole country with the natural landscapes of this place. Furthermore, his filming was published on social networks, giving a description that perfectly sums up the whole episode: Tuscany is “the perfect combination of nature and human element”.
