Discrete, fast and with years of market knowledge.
If you want to enjoy the real atmosphere of a medieval market spinned at the flash light speed of nowadays, you cannot miss the "Mercato nel Campo" in Siena's famous Piazza Del Campo, where every year is run twice the Palio.
Next week end (Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th December) in Piazza del Campo you will find the large, traditional market that hosts handcraft works and delicatessen of our Tuscan land. Between stalls with Ricciarelli and Panforte, or the typical bells with the colours of the 17 "Contradas" of Siena's Palio, you will taste and feel the true atmosphere of the traditional Tuscan Christmas.
This traditional market is held every year the first weekend of December and also in spring, the first weekend of April (Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd).
From 8.00am to 8.00pm, the "shell" of the main square of the city will live a kind of "dip" in its most glorious past, as if we were back in the fourteenth century, between history and culinary excellence and craftsmanship.
The idea is to evoke the medieval "big market", with about 150 stalls that will offer the best products of the Sienese tradition and typical products from Italy and Europe, following the rules given in the fourteenth century by the municipal authorities.
Most of the food arrives from old farmhouses and villas that lie in the villages all around Siena and in the beautiful Chianti countryside, where the tradition of the Tuscan Villa matches the luxury standing of the excellence of our traditions, renewed in a modern concept of elegant estates and luxury living!
