Buying a house is sometimes a “coup de coeur”. The potential buyer may have had a dream for a long time. But one day he visits a property, which pleasantly surprises him and he instantly decides to make a purchase offer. It sounds like a scene from a romantic film like 'Under the Tuscan sun'.
But it is not always that easy. Often the client has to travel a long way, looking at a whole series of properties in line with his wishes, before he can find the right one. It can become stressful and discouraging. A bit like feeling like "an Englishman in New York". But the path doesn't have to be that hard. At Engel & Völkers Perugia-Lago Trasimeno the communication with the buying client is always essential and therefore multilingualism deserves the full attention of our dynamic team.
The relationship between buyer and agent becomes much easier and more pleasant when both parties can use their mother tongue or at least the language they both know well.
Picture the scene. One fine summer day you are in your favourite region after a long trip from abroad. You have made an appointment to visit some interesting property. Your very nice agent arrives with whom you have already exchanged a few emails without any problems. After a few seconds you realise that he doesn't speak French like you do and unfortunately in Italian you are limited to a simple "grazie" and "ciao". The list of questions you had diligently prepared is not of much use to you for now and you keep it in your pocket. You decide to ask everything after the visit by e-mail, where you have your trusty Google Translate.
But it shouldn't be like that. There can be your agent arriving, greeting you in Italian but then surprising you with a welcome in your mother tongue (or a language familiar to you). After a coffee at the bar, you feel relaxed and ready to start your discovery together. You talk to each other in a funny mix of Italian, French, sometimes a little English, but you always understand each other and you are completely at ease.
