Among the many renowned places in the Marche Region, I would like to draw attention to the symbol of the town of Recanati, candidate for Unesco Heritage: Mount Tabor, better known as "Colle dell’Infinito" for Giacomo Leopardi's idyll of the same name.
The hill faces south with a wonderful view of the Sibillini Mountains, just what it is
inspired the poet. The today's history of the mountain begins in the 1930s when it becomes the Park in which the Leopardian Study Center is located and overlooked by the historic Palazzo Leopardi, still inhabited by its descendants.
Fai in 2019, for the bicentenary of the composition, restores and takes over the Garden on the Hill, planning an incredible 'guided tour' among Leopardi's verses. I would like to conclude on the words that the writer Stanislao Nievo spends on this: "Mount Tabor reminds us that its future is entrusted to those who live in that area, for the enjoyment of all those who have the famous poem in their hearts, it is part of that quality of places for which our country will have its highest and most consistent development, beyond any immediate economy.
