Silver Coast: the luxury sea loved by celebrities

Our journey through the Tuscany Maremma reaches the wonderful Silver Coast (“Costa d’Argento”). After visiting Metalliferous Hills, Amiata Mountain and Maremma countryside, it’s time to swim in one of the most beautiful Italian seas!

Capalbio is a medieval village surrounded by greenery and characterized by white alabasters. Every year, thousands of tourists appreciate its natural beauty and historical heritage. The nearby Capalbio Scalo is within the Lake Burano area. Here, you find 12 km of  unspoiled beach hosting popular beach clubs such as “Ultima Spiaggia”. Sustainable tourism policies - aiming to protect the environment - allow the Municipality to win Legambiente awards.

Orbetello and its lagoon area are well-known for being  wonderful locations: Giannella beach, Duna Feniglia Natural Reserve and the Etruscan Ansedonia. Orbetello is a WWF protect area, since it hosts pink flamingos and other rare species. Nearby, within the Maremma Natural Park, there is Talamone, a suggestive medieval village dominated by the majestic Aldobrandeschi Fort.

Monte Argentario enjoys a speechless view of antique forts perched on amazing bays, such as Cala Galera, Cala Piccola, Cala dei Santi, just to mention some Blue Flag beaches that can be reached by foot or boat. Porto Santo Stefano and Porto Ercole are two villages enhanced by wonderful villas and panoramic apartments overlooking the sea. Porto Santo Stefano is famous to host international regattas, while Porto Ercole is one of the most beautiful Italian “borghi”.

Giglio and Giannutri Islands are two pearls of the Tuscan Archipelagos. Crystal clear waters and stunning bays characterize them. On Giglio you can enjoy wonderful panoramas - the sea, hills with vineyards, as well as the ancient fortified village - while Giannutri preserves an historical and environmental charm.
