Since 1927, the 1000 Miglia has been one of the ambassadors of Made in Italy in the world, as well as a representation of luxury and elegance.
In 2021, the “world’s unique traveling museum” - so defined by Enzo Ferrari - celebrated its 39th edition, held from 16 to 19 June. Andrea Vesco and Fabio Salvinelli are the winners. On board of their 1929 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Super Sport, they crossed the finish line first, after having travelled 1800 km through some of the most beautiful Italian locations.
The event is organized by 1000 Miglia Srl, a company owned by the Automobil Club of Brescia. 375 cars were admitted this year, in addition to several selected models of exceptional value. The motto was “Crossing the future”, intended to encourage a combination of tradition and the future of the automobile. Alongside vintage cars, new electric cars and modern exclusive sports cars like supercars and hypercars were also permitted to take part in the race for the first time. Half of the participants were from Italy, and the other half from all over the world, with 146 drivers from the Netherlands and 80 from Germany.
The most famous participant was John Elkann, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Ferrari and the automobile holding Stellantis. He and his wife, Mrs. Lavinia Borromeo, drove their Alfa Romeo 1900 Super Sprint.
For the first time, 1000 Miglia stopped in the enchanting Tuscany Maremma. In fact, on 17 June, the iconic cars drove through Massa Marittima, Castiglione della Pescaia and Grosseto amidst breathtaking landscapes.
Engel & Völkers Castiglione della Pescaia - Argentario sponsored the stage in the seaside village with great enthusiasm.
"It was amazing - says Fabrizio Pasquini, Office Manager and License Partner - to see wonderful cars and beautiful Ferrari passing in front of our Engel & Völkers shop in Ponte Giorgini street. For exclusivity and beauty lovers - such as we of luxury real estate - the 1000 Miglia represents an unmissable iconic event. I am really happy that the organizers chose to stop in Tuscany Maremma, a land where we find luxury properties within an unspoiled nature".
The cars travelled through the ancient village of Castiglione della Pescaia to stop briefly in the parking lot in Ponte Giorgini street. Here, many enthusiasts were able to admire - in compliance with the Covid-19 prevention rules - cars gifted with a timeless charm.
