Nice, the perfect compromise between the sea and mountains

Watching the sun rise over the Baie des Anges then heading to the snow-capped peaks for a day on the slopes, indulging in your hobbies in both summer and winter and enjoying the beauty of the varied landscapes... Nice is a multi-faceted destination and a perfect city any time of year. Some of the region’s most popular family-friendly slopes await enthusiastic skiers, just 1.5 hours way. Renowned resorts such as Isola 2000, Auron and Valberg are perfect for a day of skiing or contemplation with family or friends.

Reaching new heights in Isola 2000

Isola 2000 ski resort, and its picturesque village, which stands at 2,000 metres above sea level, attract numerous ski enthusiasts every year. This ski resort, located on the Italian border, within the Mercantour area, is a great place to enjoy some fresh air before heading back down to Nice or the Tinée Valley. The village of Isola, standing at an altitude of 870 metres, features a chestnut forest and Lombard-style bell-tower, inspiring the pride of local residents and delighting visitors.

The peaks at Auron

Auron ski resort, located at 1,600 metres above sea level, bordering the Mercantour National Park, is a typical winter sports venue. With its 130 km of slopes, this is a prime meeting spot for ski enthusiasts. With its church, fountains and pastel-coloured façades, the iconic riverside village of Saint-Etienne de Tinée, located just 7 km from the slopes, resembles a picture postcard.

Sunshine in Valberg

This resort, in the heart of the Southern Alps, enjoys nearly 300 days of sunshine a year. Valberg is the ideal outdoor playground for all the family. It stands at 1,700 metres above sea level and was established in 1936, making it the oldest ski resort in the Alpes-Maritimes. Located at the top of a mountain pass with an exceptional panoramic view of Mont Saint-Honorat and Mont Mounier, it offers a variety of activities including Nordic skiing, tobogganing and snowshoeing.

An excellent compromise for a second home

In Nice, the sea and mountains are both within easy reach. The nearby Alps, which plunge down into the ocean along the Nice coastline, provide a breath-taking setting in which to recharge your batteries either for a weekend or an extended holiday. Buying a pied-à-terre in Nice makes it possible to combine pleasure and practicality.
