La Siesta is characterized as a relatively quiet urbanization with uncrowded streets and spaciously designed neighborhoods that give the town a peaceful atmosphere. Furthermore, the lack of high buildings, crowded commercial areas, and busy streets mean that La Siesta offers a quieter lifestyle than other parts of Torrevieja.

The urbanization is known to exhibit a traditional Spanish-village charm, which is evident in some of the shops’ and houses’ architecture (flat tiled roofs, white-washed stucco walls, and wrought iron or ornate tile design), the presence of churches near the town center, and of course, the friendly and familial air of locals. Foreign visitors and expats who come to visit La Siesta often decide to permanently settle in the area and take advantage of its peaceful environment,  laidback lifestyle and proximity to Torrevieja and the Orihuela Costa. The town’s amiable atmosphere is further contributed by its natural setting, with trees lining the streets, many public parks, and spacious plazas in the town center.

La Siesta may be known as a residential urbanization, but it actually offers a variety of shops, restaurants, and facilities. Within the town center are a variety of restaurants, bars and shops, a car rental service, medical clinic, pharmacy, and a veterinary clinic. La Siesta also has its own water park, the Aquapark Flamingo, and the Aquapolis water park in La Torreta is only a few hundred metres away.

Most of the establishments found in La Siesta are near to the town center, while many of the residential developments and apartment blocks are situated in the areas surrounding it. Due to this, it’s often convenient walking to the nearest restaurant, bar or shop from one’s villa or apartment and will usually take only 5-10 minutes on foot. Even Aquapark Flamingo is only a 10-minute walking distance from the main residential area.

Because La Siesta is only a few kilometers away from Torrevieja’s city center, people living in the town are also afforded the convenience of being close to many of the city’s establishments, including the hospital, sports center, supermarkets, shopping center, as well as schools for the children. La Siesta offers an especially ideal setup for families who want to live in a quiet and peaceful location while being just a few minutes’ drive away from the conveniences of the city and the major transport routes that connect with surrounding town and airports.
In fact, the CV-905 that runs through La Siesta connects directly with the AP-7 which is only a few minutes’ drive away.
