1. Where is Torrevieja in Spain?
Torrevieja is a coastal city and municipality located on the Southern Costa Blanca, in the province of Alicante, situated on the southeastern Mediterranean coast of Spain. It can be found about 50 kilometres south of the city of Alicante.
11. Is the place cold during the winter months?
Although warm and sunny most of the year, Torrevieja’s temperatures experience a drop during December – February. During this time, the city still has a very pleasant average temperature of 17°C.

13. Why is the lake in Torrevieja pink?
Laguna Rosa de Torrevieja or Torrevieja’s Pink Lake is widely known for its pigmented pink hue, but what makes the salt lake so pink? The answer lies in the Halobacterium—a type of bacteria which thrives in extremely salty environments—found in the lake, as well as a type of algae called Dunaliella Salina, which is responsible for the reddish hue. These two create the lovely pinkish-purple colour for which the lake is popular.
14. Is the city safe to travel and live in?
Torrevieja has its share of petty theft and burglary. Local authorities are very active in preventing these, as well as assisting locals and visitors alike. There are two police stations, and local law enforcement officers actively patrol public areas (such as bus stops, parks, and beaches) through the city. It is always best to exercise caution, but you will surely be able to enjoy the many sights and attractions of Torrevieja without having to constantly look around. Many residential areas even experience little to no crime due to the vigilance of the residents.
15. Is Torrevieja a busy and crowded city?
Although there are a few highly-urban areas that are busy—especially during the day—there are plenty of places in Torrevieja where one can still enjoy peace and quiet while appreciating nature.
16. What to ride when touring and exploring the city?
• Car Rental Service – To fully explore and see Torrevieja’s sights and attractions
• Bicycles – You can rent bikes to cycle on the promenades and through the natural parks
• Taxi Cabs – Many places in Torrevieja are best explored by foot, but taxi cabs are also available for accessing farther places
17. Where is the bus station in Torrevieja?
Torrevieja has a bus station with routes to and from Alicante, Murcia, and Cartagena. The bus station is located at Calle del Mar, 40.
18. Are apartments and rentals expensive in Torrevieja?
Because of the influx of international visitors and expats, the demand for residential properties, there has been a high increase in real estate developments and rental properties. Because of this, interested buyers or renters have a large selection to choose from, depending on their budget and preferences.
