1. A book
Perfume by Patrick Süskind. It was a book that made an impact on me when I read it during my student days. But I also really like Harlan Coben's thrillers. What I still do to this day, even after spending more than 20 years in Spain, is to read books in German.
2. A phrase
“When it is obvious that the goals cannot be reached, don't adjust the goals, adjust the action steps.” (Confucius) Never give up. With a positive attitude, passion and a smile, you will always reach your goal.
3. A place
Porto Santo. I discovered this Portuguese island this summer with my son. Its paradise beach captivated me. We have enjoyed incredible moments there. I would go back tomorrow.
4. A song
I find it very difficult to choose just one song. While I was living in Germany, during my school years I loved George Michael's songs. When I came to Spain I discovered singers like Jamie Cullum and later the funky Bruno Mars. Some of my team members know that in my car I have German music from a jazz / pop singer named Roger Cicero.
All in all, an excellent song is Jamie Cullum's Gran Torino. But it's the songs from Bruno Mars that cheer me up while I sing them in the car on my way to the office.
5. A sport
Going for a jog. I love to get up on Saturdays and get out of the house to run in the Collserola mountains. From there, I can enjoy the incredible views of the city of Barcelona and that is where I can disconnect.
6. A movie
The movie I have watched a few times in the cinema is Top Gun, but in general I really like French and Italian films.
A favourite movie? The Big Blue, although Cinema Paradiso is not far behind.
7. A destination
New Zealand. I would very much like to go there one day. It is one of my dream destinations.
8. A favourite restaurant / food
I have to admit that I love Basque and Galician cuisine. It is prepared wonderfully in the north of Spain and also in Galicia they have the best white wine.
9. Your perfect day
Enjoy a drink with friends in front of the sea, some bravas, (potatoes) a glass of wine and lots of laughter and chats.
10. A person you admire
I admire people from whom I can learn and improve every day.
The most important person in my life is my father. He has guided me so much, both professionally and personally. His unconditional support, always from the background, of course, has helped me to make my own decisions.
