The Puente Romano resort was built in 1974 as an executive apartment complex along Marbella’s luxurious ‘Golden Mile’. It was founded by Alfonso Von Hohenlohe, a German-Spanish royal prince. The prince was also the owner and proprietor of the Marbella Club Hotel at the time.
Mouaffak Al Midani, one of the regular clients at the Marbella Club Hotel and a personal friend to Prince Alfonso, saw the potential of converting the apartment complex into a resort. After a lengthy period of negotiation, Mr Al Midani finally acquired the property in 1979.
