The temperatures in spring are ideal for riding your bicycle to discover the beautiful landmarks of the southeast of Mallorca. The paths lead past plains, hilly landscapes and cornfields, which are very common for the southeast.
We put together a few of our most amazing tours:
S’Alqueria Blanca - Santanyí - Cala s’Almonia (13,2 km), easy
Start at the restaurant Sa Residencia in s’Alqueria Blanca by going toward the south and taking in the fantastic view of the Mediterranean Sea at the horizon. Stay in the right lane after about 1.5km and turn into the street Camí de Son Marimón facing the hotel with the same name as the street you are in and follow it all the way until Santanyí. Through the village follow the main road and at the end to the direction of Es Llombards. At the roundabout follow the sign "Cala Llombards". The paved road leads you after 3.5 km to the entrance of Cala Llombards and directly there turn right and go after the road signs pointing to Cala s’Almonia. When you arrive, take a cool dip and enjoy the wonderful nature.
S’Alqueria Blanca – Nature park Mondragó – Portopetro - Cala d’Or (21,5 km), moderate
If you like to visit the beaches in Cala d’Or, this is your tour. Start at the restaurant Sa Residencia in s’Alqueria Blanca by going toward the south in direction of Cala Mondragó. Before reaching the beach, you turn to the right to take the way in the peaceful atmosphere of the national park. As you reach the end of the park, follow the signs to Portopetro and past the marvelous harbor. After a short way you reach Cala d’Or, the white village of Mallorca. Here you will find a lot of beautiful bays, such as Cala Esmeralda, Cala Serena or Cala Gran.
Cala D’Or – Felanitx – Sant Salvador (23 km), difficult
This bike tour is a part of the bucket list of every cyclist visiting Mallorca. It starts at the gas station next to the roundabout in Cala D’Or, from where you go straight ahead to s’Horta. While you are going past blossoming mallorcan flowers, follow the road signs toward Felanitx. Arriving in the old town of Felanitx, go towards Porto Colom. Shortly after leaving the town, turn to right at the sign to the monastery Sant Salvador. Keep in mind that it is an exhausting way up the 500 meters hill with partly steep slopes requiring much strength and endurance. Once you reach the top, you will be rewarded with a breathtaking all-round view of the southeast. Visit the monastery, relax at the cafes or stay overnight in the small hotel.
