Bunyola

The municipality is set 14km from Palma, and has four urban areas: Bunyola, Palmanyola, Sa Coma & Orient. It has a very rich and diverse geography, offering many different landscapes, reaching as high as 1000m2 above sea level, and as low as 100m, at its border with Palma. The area neighbours not only the capital, but also other municipalities, such as Marratxí, Santa María del Camí, Alaró, Escorca, Sóller, Deià and Valldemossa.

Bunyola is a traditional village, renowned for its charm and has the benefit of not being affected by the tourist crowds. Nevertheless, it is a mandatory stop for cyclists who ride through the area, as it has an excellent location right on the foothills of the Sierra de la Tramuntana mountain range.

This village has a population of approx. 6636 inhabitants and 5000 hectares of protected nature considered of special interest. The region is spotted with many fincas and historic estates, surrounded by stunning landscape; such as the two renown estates of Raixa and Alfabia.

Sant Mateu church in the village of Bunyola, the market in the square every Wednesday and Saturday, and the tranquil village of Orient, are highly recommended visits.
