Celebrating Sant Joan in Puerto Pollensa and Puerto Alcudia: Come on down to the beach and welcome in the summer

On the night of June 23rd to 24th, the fiesta de Sant Joan celebrates the beginning of summer, (also known as the Feast of St. John), and is celebrated every year across the Balearic islands. Here in the north people gather on the fine, white beaches of Pollensa and Alcúdia as the day draws to a close, to watch the sun go down and perhaps enjoy a picnic and something to drink with family and friends. With the promise of being entertained until the early hours the party atmosphere is vibrant, come along and enjoy live music and a bit of dancing. Relish a wonderful night, the shortest of the year, in good company on one of the beautiful beaches lit up by bonfires and candlelight. The Catholic tradition rejoices the triumph of light over darkness. During the festivities, you also have the opportunity to write down negative events from the past on a piece of paper - these are collectively burned in the bonfires at midnight, in the hope it will rid you of their burden. Sant Joan also marks the unofficial opening of the swimming season, and many are tempted into the gentle, clear waters of the Mediterranean - in June, the water temperature is about 20 degrees.

In Pollensa and Alcúdia, our professional real estate agents market numerous high-quality residential properties in exclusive locations. In the port of Pollensa, this stylish apartment is for sale - from the terrace, you have a unique view of the beach, and the festivities of Sant Joan and Sant Pere.
