Unique landscapes, traditional cultural experiences and a pleasant climate for large parts of the year: For many people, the Balearic island of Mallorca is a real dream environment for the purchase of a villa, a rustic house or an apartment.
Engel & Völkers is the leading company for real estate in Mallorca – regardless of whether that is defined in terms of annual sales, market share, the number of property shops, staff and real estate agents or the number of properties listed. The first Engel & Völkers office outside Germany opened in Palma de Mallorca in 1990. By then, the island was already very popular with international buyers. This marked the start of the company’s global expansion: it now has offices in more than 900 locations in 33 countries on four continents.
Engel & Völkers in Mallorca currently has around 2,000 properties for sale in different price categories on offer. They include villas, fincas, townhouses and apartments in towns and villages, in the countryside and in the mountains. Properties directly by the sea are particularly popular. Engel & Völkers also has rental properties and plots available in most areas.
In 2021, the transaction volume in Mallorca’s entire market surpassed the figures from previous years. The same is true of Engel & Völkers’ transaction volume. With 170 real estate advisors and employees, the team at Engel & Völkers Mallorca recorded the most successful financial year in the company’s history, with a transaction volume of around 891 million euros. In comparison to the previous year, the turnover more than doubled (2020: 411 million euros) and the development of the entire market was exceeded.

The growth in sales in recent years has been accompanied by an expansion of the Engel & Völkers team. Having started with a small workforce in Palma de Mallorca in 1990, the company now has more than 170 employees and real estate agents working at various locations throughout the islands. To meet the needs of the international clientele, the experienced team operates in multiple languages. With their professionally tailored range of services, its real estate agents can meet the most discerning requirements and customer requests can be fulfilled in the shortest possible time. If the price is right, properties in prime locations – with excellent construction quality – are marketed rapidly by Engel & Völkers. The fastest property sale in Mallorca took less than two hours.
In 2021, Engel & Völkers’ transaction volume reached almost a billion euros in the Balearics, achieving figures higher than ever before (compared to the prior year: +113%). The Balearic Islands’ entire market was able to significantly exceed the figures of the previous years to achieve new records of around 6.6 billion euros (compared to the prior year: +81%). Engel & Völkers surpassed the performance of the entire market.
