This beautiful walled city has been a meeting place for artists from all over the world, such as the painter Marc Chagall, who nicknamed the city "The Blue Paradise" in the 1930s. The Ava Gardner film "Pandora and the Dutchman" was also shot, wandering and in 1977, the musical film "Lend it to me tonight" (premiere: 1978) with Manolo Escobar.

The medieval castle of Tossa de Mar
The medieval castle with its wall is, without a doubt, the jewel in the crown of Tossa de Mar and is located in Vila Vella. Built in the 12th century to defend the town from possible attacks, now only the walls and some towers remain, areas where you can walk and enjoy the incredible views of the town, the beach and the Mediterranean Sea.
The ruins of the old Church of San Vicente
In the heart of Vila Vella de Tossa del Mar we find the ruins of an old church of San Vidente in Gothic style from the 15th century. This church built inside the walls was the main church of the town until the 16th century, when the population began to expand around the walls, and it was necessary to build another church closer and with greater capacity to replace the original.
The Lighthouse of Tossa de Mar
At the highest point of the wall, 70 meters above the sea, to which we must add the 10 meters of its tower, we find the Tossa de Mar lighthouse, which offers us panoramic views and where a castle used to be. which also served as a watchtower.

Annually, Tossa de Mar celebrates three gastronomic campaigns where it has the participation of the restaurants of the municipality: The Traditional Tossenca Kitchen, which is celebrated throughout the year, the Noodles in the Casserole, in the month of June, and the Cuisine of the Cim and grave, during the month of September.
Rhythm and good atmosphere, during the month of June the Festival of Rumba and Catalan Music of Tossa de Mar is celebrated. The program is wide and varied and, among other activities, the inaugural concert stands out.
Major summer festival of San Pedro in Tossa de Mar
The Festival dedicated to San Pedro, Patron Saint of Fishermen, is one of the most beloved festivals in the town. This year's program is very varied, adapted to the current situation. The Proclamation of the Major Festival will be held. There will also be the Mass of Saint Peter, the traditional procession of Saint Peter from the Church to the Platja Grand and an audition by the Cobla de Farners.
