Puigcerdà lived a great transformation at the end of the 19th century as it became a summer colony for important families from Barcelona and surroundings. At this time the characteristic eclectic architecture of the great houses, villas or manors of the lake area emerges and is characterized by its splendor and great spaces. Some of them today are no longer homes but their characteristics are preserved, for example, the Music School, the Consell Comarcal de Cerdanya or the Casino Ceretà.

These are some examples of traditional villas:
First manor villa built in the aristocratic summer colony of Puigcerdà at the end of the 19th century. Partially restored it is ideal for a family enthusiastic with the idea of recovering the distinctive architecture of the time. Located in the area of Puigcerdà’s lake it has a large social area with direct exit to an imposing porch ideal for summer and the large garden that gives it privacy in the center of the village. It has a bright living room with fireplace, a dining room, kitchen and a laundry area on ground floor. On the first floor find five double bedrooms and two bathrooms. The house has an annex of later construction, which preserves the exterior aesthetics of the villa, where you find two double bedrooms, a living room with fireplace, a large garage and a storage room.
The historical elegance of this partially renovated villa dating from the last century stands out in the village of Puigcerdà. The property sits on a 1.400 sqm garden that surrounds the house and harmonizes with its interior. The house is distributed in three independent floors with the possibility of being unified, by the majestic original staircase or divided into three sumptuous apartments. It also has a garage area and a service building. No doubt it’s worth highlighting its location, just five minutes away from the town center and even closer to the noble area of Puigcerda’s Lake and Schierbeck Park.
