In this valley, several golf clubs have flourished, the most outstanding are: The Real Club Golf Cerdanya, a club of great tradition and prestige; The Fontanals Golf, a club with impressive facilities, excellent services and multiple benefits; and the club founded in 2006 in Puigcerdà in the Sant Marc estate, adapting this name, changing its name today to the Sant Marc Puigcerdà Golf Club. These 3 golf clubs have transformed the whole social and economic life of the Cerdanya region.
In 1929, the most prestigious Golf Club of Catalonia was born, the first from Girona, the Real Club Golf Cerdanya. Private at the beginning, with only 9 short holes, it moved between 1942 and 1948 and it expanded from 9 holes to 18 holes, being 27 the current ones. In 1950, the first international tournament took place, still private. In 1965, the club became social buying the forty-five hectares of the field. Between 1968 and 2009 the club grew by opening a sports center, expanding the playing fields and improving the clubhouse and other facilities.
The Fontanals Golf, created as a service club, which highlights the benefits of its spaces and facilities. There, the game of walking hole after hole seems more like an excuse. In 2006, the current Club Golf Sant Marc Puigcerdà was born under another name, Golf Sant Marc. The year 2018 has been time for its renovation. It has a field surrounded by mountains in an environment of 2 natural lakes, a 3km course and 18 holes, a flat field for any player; In addition, it has an internship place with 50 positions. Its services include the Club House and the Golf School for young people with a 3-month plan, combining normal studies and language learning.
