Robb Report, which is also linked to Forbes, is one of the most prestigious luxury lifestyle magazines in the world. It is no secret that a home is an essential part of anyone's life and that not all properties respond in the same way to the needs of their owners. Engel & Völkers knows this very well and that is why it focuses its efforts on offering the best properties to the most demanding buyers. This has resulted in the CEO of the real estate agency to be considered as one of the most influential people in 2018 in Spain.
Juan-Galo Macià, the head of Engel & Völkers for Spain, Portugal and Andorra, has been included in the selected ranking by Robb Report. This is a list that the magazine publishes on an annual basis, which recognises the work of entrepreneurs from various sectors, including communication, catering, design and, of course, the real estate business. In all cases, the contribution of managers to the growth and greater visibility of their respective firms in the luxury market is particularly valued. Undoubtedly, a recognition that puts Macià's career at the forefront of the Iberian division of Engel & Völkers.
Of course, the relationship between Robb Report and Engel & Völkers in Spain did not start with this very recent success. This highly-sought magazine has repeatedly awarded the real estate agency in the Iberian Peninsula, specifically through its annual Best of the Best awards. The last recognition was, in fact, given last October, when the German brand was awarded as the "Best Real Estate" in Spain. In fact, Juan-Galo Macià had already been included in the list of Robb Report in its 2017 edition.
Macià was promoted to the general management of Engel & Völkers for Spain, Portugal and Andorra in 2017. The company took into account his previous work experience in the different areas of the business before promoting him to the managerial position. Macià joined his professional career with Engel & Völkers in 2012, when he became part of the Spanish team of the German firm to manage the Metropolitan Market Centre (MMC) in Barcelona. This ambitious project, which was still in its initial phase when Macià took charge of it, sought to consolidate a new business model in Barcelona.
At the time of gaining the CEO position, Macià took the responsibility of maintaining the great performance of a business that has added 76 franchises and already enjoyed a very established position in such strategic regions as Madrid, Barcelona and the two counties of Alicante and Valencia. Macià has continued promoting the expansion of the firm in Spain through different lines of action. Thus, the sports sponsorship policy has continued to give greater visibility to the brand (polo, golf ...), also supporting the celebration of sport and social events.
The recruitment campaigns for new real estate agents have also intensified. Engel & Völkers in Spain already has more than 1,000 professionals who are in charge of reaching out to those who are interested in buying or selling a property on a daily basis. Macià has specially pampered this figure and therefore the events have multiplied to strengthen ties between agents from all over Spain, celebrating them in different points of the national geography.
In short, Macià, who joined the Engel & Völkers team, has multiplied the presence of the firm in the main cities. A closeness that, for Robb Report, is the best example of the ability to influence the CEO and the entire brand.
Engel & Völkers in Spain, Portugal and Andorra is already one of the most recognisable companies in the sector in one of the markets with the greatest growth potential in southern Europe. It should be noted that all the divisions of the business have improved their turnover figures in a sustained manner in recent years, allowing the company to set ambitious goals for the next five years. A challenge that Juan-Galo Macià and the other professionals at Engel & Völkers have taken on with competence and passion.
