A capital where high-tech business blends seamlessly with historical architecture and tradition, Madrid is at once exciting and slow-paced, fashionable and timeless. It’s a city of efficient public transport and entertainment for all ages, so weekends here can sometimes stretch from Friday dinner time right through until Monday morning.
As well as the world-famous Museo del Prado, Madrid has an entire quarter dedicated to culture. The Barrio de Salamanca, full of art galleries, is a thriving area and home to the Casa-Palacio del Conde de Cedillo, a striking early 20th-century building and the location of our exclusive Esquina Bécquer residence. Close by, opposite Madrid’s largest park and the glorious botanical gardens, is the city's literary quarter. Once home to some of Spain’s greatest writers like Zorrilla, Lope de Vega and Cervantes, it was a prime choice for our Zorrilla residence, a peaceful haven in the heart of the city’s most elegant quarter.
The Zorilla development sits in a listed 19th-century building with ironwork balconies. The original roof is undergoing painstaking reconstruction to include state-of-the-art insulation. Similarly, the Esquina Bécquer building has been sympathetically renovated to preserve its Toledo-style façade while offering modern conveniences like robotic parking. To capitalise on Madrid's sunny climate, both buildings feature large windows for plenty of natural light and the Esquina Bécquer residence even has a secluded inner courtyard. Each detail of the renovations, from tiling to carpentry to fitting and fixtures, pays homage to the original structures while incorporating efficient modern insulation and security.
Both residences include a pool, spa facilities and a gym. Residents of the Zorrilla complex will benefit from elegant meeting rooms, an acoustically optimised screening room and a comprehensive concierge service. In addition to the automated parking at the Esquina Bécquer building, there is also a private cinema room, the option of a solarium and private wine cellar.
Zorrilla comprises nine residences and two penthouse apartments. The penthouses are two bed, two bath spaces, while the other residences each have three bedrooms and three bathrooms, plus a powder room. There is useful extra storage built into the common areas. The Esquina Bécquer building offers 10 apartments and two expansive penthouse spaces. The spacious residences on the lower floors offer three bedrooms and three bathrooms, plus a powder room, while the penthouse spaces come with four bedrooms and four bathrooms, plus two powder rooms, as well as outdoor space including a private pool and sun terrace.
The apartment interiors are a mix of sleek black and white accents against a calming neutral backdrop. The kitchens blend stainless steel and engineered quartz worktops with high-tech amenities to make hosting parties and preparing meals easy. The bathrooms are bright and light-filled, with luxurious marble and glass accents. The use of a delicate eggshell paint throughout the apartments maximises the illuminating effect of the traditional large windows. The flooring throughout the developments is light-toned and durable, with sturdy solid wood floors in living spaces and marble tiles elsewhere.
The careful blending of the traditional and the high-tech within these buildings reflects the spirit of the city outside. We’ve combined what we love about classic Madrid with all the conveniences of the 21st-century city to create luxury residences that showcase functionality and modern elegance.
