Where can I make a donation?
You can donate through secure collection boxes located in all Engel & Völkers shops and offices where partners are actively supporting our project in Togo. These boxes are collected annually by Engel & Völkers Charity e.V., and 100% of the donations go directly to the project. We would love to welcome you to one of our shops! Please note that donation receipts are not issued for cash donations made via these collection boxes.

“Akbe Kakaka!” (This is how the children in Agbetiko say "Thank you!")
Who is entitled to a donation receipt?
For donations of 50 euros or more, Engel & Völkers Charity e.V. will provide a donation receipt that you can use for tax purposes. To receive this, please ensure your name and address are clearly indicated on the payment form. Receipts are sent out annually at the end of the year.
Unfortunately, donation receipts cannot be issued for cash donations made through collection boxes. For international donations, we can issue receipts, but their acceptance will depend on local tax regulations.
How much of the donations actually reach the project?
100% of the donations are directed towards the development and long-term support of the project in Agbetiko, Togo. This is guaranteed because Engel & Völkers AG covers all administrative costs, including staff time and business expenses.
Who ensures the funds are used effectively?
We chose this project due to a personal connection through Christian Völkers’ family. The initiative came from Ingrid van Aalst, a family member. All donations are exclusively allocated to the primary school project in Agbetiko, in close cooperation with Engel & Völkers Charity e.V.
A German-speaking construction manager from Togo has been appointed for the building phase. While the project management's flight costs are covered by donations, the on-site work is done voluntarily. We will provide regular updates on our website regarding the project’s progress and the activities of the Village Development Committee.
