The “Ecole primaire privée” in Togo opened its doors to pupils again on 15 June. Like all other schools in this African country, the primary school funded by the E&V Charity also had to close for many weeks due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.
“Unlike in Germany, our pupils weren’t able to take part in lessons online as the technical equipment just wasn’t available,” said Ina Schlüter, Chair of the Engel & Völkers Charity. “So the headteacher Samuel Yawo Kutuadu made sure that the entire final year class was provided with teaching material during the time the school was closed.”
Everyone is happy that the school is back open once again and pupils are returning back to the classrooms. “Of course, lessons resumed for the final year class while wearing face masks and social distancing,” said Ina Schlüter. We wish all the schoolchildren the best of luck when they take their upcoming exams!
