The Czech Chamber of Authorized Engineers and Technicians (ČKAIT) is constantly growing, so it was necessary to expand its premises. Even though the new building is located just a few steps from the existing headquarters, without the cooperation of our colleague, Martin Holeček, could be the expansion of the existing headquarters much more complicated. We bring you an interview with Ing. Robert Špalek, chairman of ČKAIT.
ČKAIT has its activities enacted by the state. It covers engineers and technicians who design and execute constructions, provides them with service and is a guarantor of the quality of their work. Today, the Chamber has approximately 32,000 members.
The main intention was to expand the premises for the administration. At the time we moved to our current address, our group had only about half the number of members we have now. Today, the number of performed administrative tasks is also increasing, the demands are much higher. We were looking for an object that would be at a very close distance from our current headquarters, so that communication between the objects would be as easy as possible, which in the end was successfully achieved. We originally wanted to extend the current residence by building in the yard, but it was financially very unfavorable compared to buying a new house.
We originally intended to buy smaller non-residential premises. During the process, our financial options expanded due to the release of reserves, this allowed us to buy the entire house. For now, we will only use the ground floor, we will rent out the other parts of the house.
About a year from the beginning of the search to the purchase.
From the beginning we decided to cooperate with a real estate agency, we approached several of them and then decided to cooperate with Engel & Völkers.
I evaluate the cooperation with your company, specifically with Mr. Martin Holeček, very positively. After all, our organization is quiet complicated partner, as the board of directors decides on the whole matter.
Construction work will start this year, in 2024 we plan to move part of the operation to the new address. However, we will still be available to the public at our original address at 1498/15 Sokolská Street in Nové Město.
