Own a house in today's Dejvice

Today's Dejvice is a luxury residential area with an international population. In addition to a large complex of university buildings, you will also find buildings of the Czech army, residences of embassies such as Russia, China, Canada, Arab Emirates or Thailand, as well as some of the most beautiful residential areas in Prague. At these locations, one finds plenty of quiet places with architecturally interesting villas and beautiful gardens. Both residents and students appreciate not only the proximity to the center of Prague, but also the largest of Prague’s Parks - Stromovka and the nature reserve Divoká Šárka. The university campus is located between the streets of the Yugoslav Partisans and the Evropska Street. Here you will find both the Rectorate of the Technical University and its faculty - Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Information Technology, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Faculty of Architecture, and the Institute of Chemical Technology. The Catholic Theological Faculty of Charles University and the National Technical Library are also located in Dejvice.

Do you want to rent an apartment in the popular district of Dejvice in Prague?

Dejvice is a very popular residential area, not only because of the luxury villas like Ořechovka, Baba or Hanspaulka. An example of a mixed development can be Bubeneč. In this district there are both beautiful residential buildings as well as interesting multi-family houses. The southwestern part and the western edge of Bubeneč consist of multi-family houses, built mainly in the 1920s according to the city plan created by A. Engel, who also designed the Victory Square (Vítězné náměstí). In the southeastern part of Bubeneč stands the football stadium Sparta Praha. However, locals usually refer to the place as "na Letné". The stadium is surrounded by a continuous housing estate. The area is dominated by the dominant building of the Academy of Fine Arts. The area is described is one of the most desirable residential areas in Prague. Residential houses here usually have pretty courtyards where you can relax right in the back of the house and which also help soothe living in surrounding buildings. Many of the streets and courtyards have been able to maintain a lot of green space, which leads to a different lifestyle than, for example, Smíchov. The general popularity of the area is reflected in higher rental rates and services in the area. It is one of the safest locations in Prague. Many residents stay tied to this neighborhood because their relatives have lived here for generations and ownership often remains in the family. Therefore, finding a property for sale or rent is more difficult than in other districts in Prague.

Take a walk like the Royals

The eastern part of Bubeneč is mainly inhabited by a forest park Královská Obora or Stromovka, as it is called - a pleasure palace of the governor. Even back in the Middle Ages a wildlife park of the ruling family was located here. It is believed to have been founded by King Premysl Otakar II in 1268. In 1804 the Royal Wildlife Park was opened to the public, the name Stromovka has become naturalized with time. Significant changes in the landscaping of the park dates back to the 19th century. Several ponds had to give way in favor of meadows and forest areas. Many species of exotic trees and species have been planted, making the park an important arboretum. Currently Stromovka is used as a recreation area with sporting and cultural opportunities. On the western edge of the park are the Sparta Prague tennis courts and the sports center of the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic together with the Otakar Jandra athletics hall. The eastern part of Stromovka was rebuilt in 1891 for the needs of the Jubileums Exhibition of the Bohemian Kingdom. Since then it has remained an exhibition and entertainment area, where in the spring takes place the traditional and very popular church measuring Matějská. The Prague Exhibition Grounds do not only benefit the inhabitants of Dejvice, but are also an attraction for many Prague and foreign visitors as it offers a wide range of leisure and cultural events. Let us mention the musical performance of Křižík's Fountain, social events, exhibitions and fairs in the Industrial Palace or the collection of sculptural art in the Lapidary of the National Museum.

Living in Dejvice is not only nice but also practical

However, the popularity of Dejvice also has many practical reasons. One of them are the excellent transport links through the Troja Bridge and the Blanka City Tunnel Complex, which contribute significantly to calming traffic in adjacent residential areas. The Evropská Street is very well connected to Václav Havel Airport and to the north of the Czech Republic. Dejvice can be easily reached by metro line A, tram or bus. The underground station Hradčanská also serves as a bus station. Another reason is the variety of renowned educational institutions in Dejvice. In addition to the university campus already mentioned, there are popular secondary schools, such as the Gymnasium at the Embassy of the Russian Federation, the Business Academy on Krupka Square and the Riverside International School, which offers pre-school, primary and secondary education. In Dejvice you will also find the Montessori elementary school with a kindergarten and the renowned International School in Prague ISP.
