I received the award for the third time, this time I placed fourth in the evaluation for the year 2020. I started my career in Engel & Völkers in 2018 and the same year I took third place and following year I took second place. The announcement of the winners used to be always organized as a great ceremony before the Covid-19 pandemic. To being there, to be a part of this social event, to meet successful businessmen from all over the world is a big motivation for me. My participation is also a good advertisement for our Engel & Völkers Prague company. In addition to the invitation to this event, I am personally proud of the title "Top Estate Agent" on my business card. I truly believe that I will take the first place in the evaluation for 2021. So far, I have managed to rent over 120 properties since the beginning of this year.
I think it doesn’t matter what gender you are, you have to prove your professional skills. For me as a woman, it is naturally easier to communicate with a man, and on the contrary, a salesman may have easier communication with a woman as a client. Everything has its pros and cons. When clients meet me, a little blonde, for the first time, sometimes they are a little skeptical, but then they are always surprised how I can conduct business negotiations.
At that time, a friend of mine did business in building industry, I was familiar with real estate. I sent a single CV, just here to Engel & Völkers. I have always worked exclusively for German companies and I wanted the same this time as well. German companies are structured, follow their standards and they are used to be honest. One says as is the boss such are the people around him. As soon as I saw Andreas, I knew he was someone I wanted to work with (editor Andreas von Schlik, Managing Partner).
I can't do my job without a well-managed time management, it is also very closely related to my efficiency. I think a lot about things, I do everything in a structured way. I have to handle a wide range of responsibilities. I am also in charge of many apartments, I try to plan my moves from place to place efficiently. Naturally, I always want to be in a meeting on time, I think it is a basic duty of a businessman. Therefore, I have to think ahead about Prague traffic, have time reserves, but at the same time not to waste time.
It was like that in the beginning. I was able to quickly move myself into a position, where clients often contact me, because they’ve got a recommendation on me. I usually spend a lot of time walking around Prague looking for real estates, which interest me, then I address the owner. I recommend keeping balance between these two ways.
The ideal model is to have mainly properties in your portfolio, which you know you can rent well to the satisfaction of the owner, tenant and you in the role of a real estate agent. When you're new to the business, it's hard to make this decision well. Today I already have a lot of experience, so it is always a good recommendation to explain the owner all the facts, circumstances and conditions under which the property can be rented. There are properties on the market for which we simply do not have a clientele, so it is better for both parties if we do not accept such a property in our offer.

This work taught me tolerance, patience, assertiveness and above all flexibility. I think I am able to react immediately to change, I have to constantly reconsider my priorities. Flexibility is something you just have to accept in this work.
A difficult period occurred in the spring of 2020, when a pandemic began in our country. It took me a long time to adapt to working from home. I wanted to be back in the company of my colleagues as soon as possible. Our rental team got back to the office first. It was not possible to work fully from home, we spend a lot of time on property viewings.
The owners had a perfect concept. The residence is located in a sought-after location near the metro station, the apartments are very well designed and also in a very high standard. There was nothing like this in the area before, so the residence most of the time attracts the clients who have been already living in Prague, but they longed for a new attractive living opportunity.
My job is my hobby. I simply enjoy what I do. I don't go to work, I come there to enjoy my day.
