Getting married in autumn: 5 reasons for a blissful September wedding
The months from May to August are considered the most popular to get married. But more and more couples are discovering the golden season starting in September to say "yes" in front of an autumnal scenery. For good reason: getting married in the trend month of September has many advantages that we want to show you here. On top we supply a checklist for an autumnal dream wedding.
1. Festive autumn decoration
If you decide to celebrate your wedding in September, you can make decorations much more individual than in the high season in the summer months. Instead of using typical decorations such as subtle colours, white tablecloths and place cards, strong colours and chestnuts, pumpkins or maple leaves can be used as decoration in September. The gold and red colours give your table decoration an original touch, which looks no less noble but clearly more cosy.
2. Better food
The sunny weather is a reason for many couples to arrange their wedding in the summer months. But do you feel like a piece of cream cake or a hot wedding soup at 30°C? Exactly! With milder temperatures in September, however, soups, mushroom dishes, meat and wedding cake taste much better. So getting married in the autumn also means that it gets much more sociable and frolicsome at the tables.
3. More guests at your September wedding
Especially in the summer months, many people's calendars are full of weddings and other festivities. In autumn, however, most guests have more time for such events. So when you celebrate in September, you can be sure that your most important friends and relatives will find the time for the most important day of your life. That makes it not also less stressfull to find a suitable date for the celebration.
4. More choice of wedding locations
Just like your guests’, the appointment calendars of registry offices and wedding locations in autumn are far less crowded than in the summertime. Also photographers, DJs and other service providers usually have more time and can dedicate themselves more flexibly to your dates. This makes it easier to arrange all aspects of your dream wedding the way you want it.
5. More flexible wedding budget
The fact that you are free to choose your location and any service provider has another decisive advantage: Not only are you more flexible in terms of scheduling, you may also be able to plan more cost-effectively than during the high season from May to August. So use autumn to save money at this point, which you can spend on more beautiful things such as decoration or catering.
Wedding checklist
For your dream wedding in autumn there are some little things to consider during the planning. Here’s a short checklist for you on what you should absolutely take into account:
Weatherproof location: In the event of a rain or stormy weather, it should be possible to move the celebrations to the inside at short notice.
Light sources: When you are celebrating outside, you should think of enough garden torches, fire baskets and light chains for the evening hours.
Heat sources: In order for your guests not to freeze in the early morning hours, you should include light blankets, warm seat cushions and heating radiators in your planning.
Wardrobe: At milder temperatures your guests bring more jackets and coats. Organise a suitable wardrobe for these garments!
Sun position: A romantic autumn wedding photo in front of the setting sun captures the most beautiful day of your life. Therefore, get informed beforehand about the sun’s position for unique photographs.
With these tips, nothing stands in your way for an original dream wedding in September. If it can't be romantic enough for you, give your festivities a magical charm by getting married in a castle! We wish you all the best for your big day!
