The historic sawmill was built in 1655 and is fully operational today. All three buildings are historic listed buildings. Alongside the historic buildings there is a barn from 2006 with more potential for development. The hydro-electric plant generates approx. 80,000 kWh of electricity per year. This is enough for consumption by the property, e.g. for the heat pump which heats the property, with any excess being fed into the grid. Another water wheel drives the saw mill. Drinking water is obtained from a separate spring which lies on ground above the mill. The facility includes around 3.7ha of land and approx. 2 km of fishing rights on the Günz River. This unique property in a secluded location is surrounded by beautiful flower meadows in a valley where the Günz is still allowed to meander freely. The marvellous mixed forests are protected as FFH forests and are criss-crossed by many small streams. Above the mill is Liebenthann Castle and a mystical place, the Reverdisquelle. Vis á vis on the other side of the valley is the Teufelsküche, one of the most beautiful geotopes in Swabia. Brown trout and rainbow trout live in the Günz and the dipper, grey wagtail and beaver live along the Günz. The Günz valley cycle path runs along the valley directly behind the mill and connects the mill to the excellent Allgäu cycle path network.
