Decentral heating, Gas heatingŽižkov is a historical Prague quarter located in the Eastern city center. The quarter received its name from the Hussite commander Jan Žižka from Trocnov and became an independent quarter in 1875. It was called Královské Vinohrady then and two years later it was re-named Žižkov. Žižkov has the nickname Montmartre. Similarities between these two places are the residential houses from the 19th and 20th century, and the famous bohemian night life, cafes, bars, and artists. Žižkov is located on a hill, that’s why the local streets are mostly narrow and steep. The best advantage of living in Prague 3 is the excellent commute. Fast and easy is the commute to the city center by car or public transportation. For example, you can get to Václavské Square in only 10 minutes. The close proximity and quiet calm location will be welcomed by lovers of walks and biking. Close to the housing complex are two large parks - Vítkov and Parukářka. It is in walking distance to several preschools, primary and secondary schools, high schools, specialty schools, and leisure facilities. Nearby are healthcare facility, pharmacy, post office, ATMs, specialty stores, shopping mall, University of Economics, restaurants, cafes, and renowned theaters and cinemas. The most famous building is the Žižkov TV tower and the national monument Vítkov from where you can see the statue of Jan Žižka on his horse. Only 5 minutes ride or 15 minutes walk to the shopping center Palác Flóra, which offers many boutiques, specialty shops, supermarkets, restaurants, and the fantastic 3D IMAX cinema.
