Previously, Modřany was a center of industry and a popular excursion destination. To this day, it is more of a village surrounded by nature, but with excellent transport links. Locals appreciate the charm of Modřany, which you will recognize on your first visit. The local cinema screened films as early as 1919 and was one of the first cinemas in Prague. In Modřany there are traditional pubs, fast food, supermarkets, and health food stores. In a few minutes, you will find yourself in the greenery, with many opportunities for sports. Forests and hilly terrain are also popular among runners and cyclists, there is a public athletics complex and several ball game poles. A nature trail, a cycle path, and hiking trails lead through the Modřany gorge. You can walk through the residential area, with children you can go, for example, to the playground Točná.
