For golf lovers, Tróia has an 18-hole, 6,317-metre long course that stretches along the beach with magnificent sea views. Designed by the American golf architect Robert Trent Jones Senior, TROIA GOLF was elected in 2011 as one of the best golf courses in the world by Rolex, and is now included in The Rolex World's Top 1,000 Golf Courses guide. Robert Trent Jones Senior chose hole 3 of the Troia Golf Course as one of the best he has ever designed and elected it as part of his ideal 18-hole course.
Troia marina is a tourist attraction that joins the list of blue flag marinas, where beginners can learn the basic rules in calm and safe waters. The more advanced put their skills to the test in the open sea and experienced sailors use Troia marina as a starting point for longer trips. The wind is, as always, simply right: perfect for sea lovers to give free rein to their passion.
The Tróia Casino is a bold, dynamic, innovative and sophisticated space, distinguished by its contemporary architecture and modern interior decoration. The innovative design of the gaming area, consisting of more than 200 slot machines and about 15 gaming tables, with a unique technology in Portugal, capable of adapting in real time the existing offer to the demand, i.e. to the Customer's preferences, stands out. Tróia are the largest known fish salting production complex in the Roman world, which was built in the first half of the 1st century and developed in a settlement that was probably occupied until the 6th century. The archaeological sites open to visitors are two large salting workshops, the baths, the mausoleum, the mausoleum necropolis and the residential nucleus of Rua da Princesa. The visiting route, installed in 2010, has explanatory panels at seven observation points and signposts indicating the alternative routes. The Palaeochristian basilica can only be visited by guided tours.
Tróia is half an hour from Setúbal and an hour from Lisbon where the ferry is a means of connection between the peninsula and the bay of Setúbal. When crossing the Sado river you will be able to see all the surrounding nature and with a bit of luck you may even be visited by the dolphins of the Sado estuary.
