337.74 kWh/m²aInarzo is an Italian municipality in the Province of Varese, located between the southern shore of Lake Varese and the chain of hills stretching from Casale Litta to Azzate. Inarzo was only established as an autonomous municipality in 1958, making it the 'youngest' municipality in the province; it was previously part of Casale Litta. The commune's territory, of about 258 hectares, consists of half of meadows and fields and the other half of a part of the Brabbia Swamp, plus a small wooded area upstream. There is a small watercourse, the Riale, which has its source in Lomnago and descends to the south of the village, then crosses the Brabbia swamp and flows into the Brabbia Canal. Geologically, this is moraine terrain shaped by the retreat of a branch of the Verbano glacier that overflowed at Laveno, lapping the Campo dei Fiori and occupying the present-day lakes of Varese, Comabbio, Monate and the Brabbia swamp, and flowing into the Ticino. The centre of the provincial capital, Varese, and the motorway to Milan are 11 km away while Malpensa international airport is 23 km away. The Swiss border can be easily reached by travelling 24 km. The coast of Lake Maggiore is 13 km away.
