Mornago is situated on the road that leads from Varese to Vergiate, the municipality of Mornago is composed of the hamlets of Crugnola, Montonate and Vinago which, autonomous municipalities until 1869, were joined to the municipality of Mornago by Royal Decree of 14 February of that year. In the 13th century it took the name of Mornago and, through successive modifications, came to the present day Mornago. The church of San Michele is still the parish church, but it does not seem to derive from the medieval one, but was built in the 15th century, as can be deduced from the Baroque style. A country with an agricultural economy until the beginning of the 20th century, Mornago subsequently experienced a considerable industrial development, particularly in the textile and clothing, mechanical and chemical fields. Very close to the centre of the provincial capital, Varese, and to the motorway to Milan. Malpensa International Airport is 18 km away. The Swiss border is easily reachable by 30 km. After 12 km you reach the coast of Lake Maggiore.
