About Benalmádena

Benalmádena is a town in Andalusia, 12 km of Malaga, on the Costa del Sol between Torremolinos and Fuengirola. Benalmádena has a lot of beaches and interesting places. The town of Benalmádena covers an area of almost 30 kilometres from the summits of the Sierra de Mijas to the coastline of the Mediterranean. The town is located on a hill allowing the majority of properties to offer fantastic sea views. With leisure facilities including an amusement park, two aquariums, a casino, a cable car and one of the largest marinas of Andalusia, Benalmádena is one of the most popular tourist destinations on the Costa del Sol.

Benalmádena Pueblo

Benalmadena Pueblo is 280 meters above sea level. The old town is a typical Andalusian village. With its whitewashed houses adorned with colorful flowers spilling out of wall-mounted plant pots, it’s magnificent to walk through the maze of narrow, cobbled streets. There are many cultural activities and sights to enjoy in and around Benalmádena Pueblo. Traditional cuisine, the remnants of several cultures and the stunning views are just some of the attractions this small town has to offer.

The picturesque town of Arroyo de la Miel is situated between Benalmádena Pueblo and Benalmádena Costa. Arroyo de la Miel is one of the most popular destinations for tourists. The town is full of life and energy. It has beautiful plazas and small streets that adhere to the old village way of life. The town has many bars and restaurants. From traditional tapas to avant-garde cuisine or high-street coffee houses, visitors can enjoy every type of bar and restaurant imaginable. The Plaza de España is one of the most popular tourist attractions. It is a delightfully tranquil square with a spectacular fountain. There are several restaurants, and this is the perfect location to get away from your chaotic life. Another spectacular tourist attraction is the Benalmádena Cable Car. Within 15 minutes you are at the highest point on the Malaga coast. From here, there are magnificent views of the Costa del Sol and awesome panoramic vistas of the Sierra Nevada mountains, the Guadalhorce Valley and if you’re lucky you can even see Gibraltar and the coast of Africa!

Benalmádena Costa runs along the sea front between Torremolinos and Fuengirola. Overlooking the sea are the beautiful gardens of La Paloma Park. The picturesque park covers an area over 200,000 square meters and has the most stunning views of the Mediterranean coast. It has a large lake at its center. The park is well laid out and well maintained. For nature lovers there are many different types of birds to spot. Inside the park is the Benalmádena Auditorium where there are events throughout the year. The park also has the Benalmádena Library and little bars where you can rest and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. La Paloma Park is the perfect place to escape from the buzzing seafront. To see dolphins, penguins and exotic bird life you have to go to Selwo Marina, which is right beside the park. At Down on the sea front are many shops, bars and restaurants to choose from. The main attraction and an amazing night life can be found in the Benalmádena Marina, which also hosts many important sailing and sea sport events. Properties in this area are walking distance to the beach and very well connected by local transportation links to the rest of the coast and offers all necessary facilities: supermarkets, restaurants, bars, pharmacies.

Puerto Marina

Benalmádena Puerto Marina is one of the most important marinas along the Andalusian coastline. The Benalmádena Marina is several times the winner of the ‘Best Marina in the World’. It has a stunning design and interior architecture, 1.100 moorings for boats, a wide range of leisure activities and an outstanding location in the heart of the Costa del Sol. There are several activities that you can do by day, such as hiring a boat, sailing, scuba diving, kayaking or visiting the Aquarium. The Marina has a beautiful beach with beach beds and parasols for hire. Since 1987 it has been awarded the European Blue Flag for its excellent service and clean waters.

Santangelo Norte

Santangelo Norte is a very quiet area. It’s located at the foot of the Calamorro mountain. This location has an easy access to the highway. The town is just 7 minutes from Torremolinos. The airport is 10 minutes away and the historic center of Malaga is 20 minutes away. Although it currently has no shops around, it’s presumed that with the expansion that the area is experiencing, they will arrive soon. It’s one of the best areas to be well connected with the bigger cities and in turn live in a quiet area with all the comforts.
